Yes it's a hole in the wall. But boy does this place have legit Korean food! I got the special herb bibimbap. yum yum. Traditional korean veggies/herbs that are hard even to locate in HMART. I wished I lived closer so I can hit up this place more frequently.

Although there are many other Korean restaurants in the area. Dolgo Chon is the best to barbecue some meat. You should definitely take some soju or alcohol to the restaurant, but they also sell Korean-style alcohol. There are many other dishes there, but the barbecue is by far the restaurants best. The service is an A+ and the food is great. The only reason this doesn't get a five-star rating is because of the busy parking lot in the front (although there is parking in the back) and limited amount of seating. The price is also pretty high, but reasonable when considering the quantity of food served. Great place to take friends, family or a date.

we came here with a pretty large group and got seated at 2 separate tables. food was really good. We ordered sam gyup sal (2 orders) and some beef dish. Both were really good and very reasonably priced. I heard the other dishes/jigaes are really good there so I really hope to go back to try those

This place is still as great as ever since the last time we came! I do have a tip though; to get the most bang for your buck for the Korean BBQ, I recommend getting the $39.99 samgyeopsal (pork belly) portion instead of the regular $29.99 one (prices at the time I wrote this review). You get more meat, more veggies (additional kimchi and bean sprouts), and the usual stuff that comes with the regular order (salad, side dishes, and seafood/soybean paste stew). However, you can actually only get the larger portion if you sit at one of the three larger tables on one side of the restaurant since it requires a different grill. It's totally worth the price though (like double the amount of stuff for only $10 more), so you should ask the server about it. We ordered one order for 4 people and we were completely stuffed! Another note: the servers don't speak English that well (since mostly Korean people come here), but they're really nice. Also, I recommend the samgyeopsal for BBQ because the other items on the menu are pre-made, and you won't be able to have the true KBBQ experience of grilling something raw. The stuff you can grill yourself is on the upper lefthand side of the menu, though the mackerel is also pre-cooked, so I think samgyeopsal is one of the only items you can get raw and grill. This cut of pork is a bit fatty, but so good! This restaurant is probably the most authentic Korean place I've been to in Philly; reasonably priced too!

4.5 stars. Upgrade is for their new rice bowls that comes made from individualized pressure cookers, straight from Korea! Kinda like those at Jong Ka Jib, but more high tech and delicious! This results in a subtle-y sweet rice that seems like glutinous rice was added (like sticky rice), but wasn't added. Comes piping hot in a wooden casket! There's an extra charge for this, but trust me, it is worth it. The grills are reminiscent of soht ttu kkung, the stone cover they used to make food in the olden days. The cover is a dome shape, so any oil flows off to make the meats healthier to eat! Definitely becoming a more of a go-to for Korean food for me since the other restaurants in the area have been on the decline in terms of taste.

This restaurant is a pleasant surprise tucked into strip mall on Cheltenham Avenue. The clientele come mostly from the concentration of Korean residents in the area. The service was prompt and courteous. I had the pork stir fry which was good but very spicy. Definitely worth a visit!

The interior has dramatically changed since my last visit in January. No longer a huge depressing hole in the wall. Even the menu has changed to reflect the new owners. $3.99 for a bowl of jajangmyun... I'm happy with that!
